Product, micron is folklore
Green stropping compound
The micron for green chromium-oxide compound is folklore. Retailers state 0.5 or 0.3 micron with no measurement behind either, so both are recorded as conflicting estimates (faded). The Veritas and Tormek compounds carry maker figures (hollow).
Each grade below shows its size in microns, its spread (the published distribution, where a maker or standard gives one; most makers publish none), and where that size lands on the reference scale, a shared yardstick for reading grit numbers across makers.
C-estimated: 0.5 micron is the most common US-bar retailer claim (Taytools, Work Sharp, Tokushu).
C-estimated: 0.3 micron appears on European pastes and shaving products (Workshop Heaven, Classic Shaving).
B-manufacturer-ish: Lee Valley states 0.5 micron, but as 'average scratch pattern size', not particle size.
Aluminum oxide (not chromium oxide).
